THINK of the roots of time, of its incessant flow, of man that shines like a silvery fleeting star in the firmament. LISTEN to the hiss of the last word that the heart hears in the evening and wrap the day in a coat of silence. WRITE about the meeting with the becoming, marked by the light that gives way to shadows. Describe the agitation in ephemeral dreams facing the next day and the rediscovered calm at sunset. Contemplate the here, the now and the eternal elsewhere, until the mercy of darkness... a completion The objective of the Award is to remember the Great Poet and to celebrate 700 years since his death. These are Dante’s words to invite Poetry’s friends to get to know him better, to read and reread him, to rediscover him, also to try and imagine him as a third millennium man. To reflect on the value of words as opposed to silence, light rather than dark means giving him the opportunity to describe the centre of being, protagonist both in time and of time. The harmony of devout souls that unite to sing evening prayers, will be the essence of the second volume of the International Poetry Award PASSAPAROLA - Think, Listen, Write.
GUIDELINES
1) Participation in the Award entails acceptance of all the rules present in these guidelines.
2) Participation in this Award is free of charge.
3)The Award is open to all citizens, Italian or foreign, who reside in Italy or abroad and who are over 18 years of age before the competition’s deadline.
4) The deadline is the 10th April 2021. Works must be submitted before this date via email to the Award’s address as specified in points 8 and 9 of these guidelines.
5) The competition includes one sole section which is: Dante in the heart and in memory, the moment that changes desire. (Dante nel cuore e nella memoria, l’ora che volge il disio)
6) Pieces that present features that are racist, offensive, denigrating, pornographic, blasphemous, disrespectful to the common morality, that incite to hatred and
violence of any kind or that act as political and ideological declarations will not be accepted.
7)Participants can compete with a maximum of three, free themed, unpublished
poems with a title. Poems without a title will be excluded. Each poem has to be attached separately.
8) Two copies of each text have to be sent: One must be complete with: name, surname, fiscal code, telephone number and email address, while the other must be without the author's personal data, failure to comply will lead to disqualification.
9) The materials to be sent to the email address: premiopassaparola@comune.spello.pg.it are: -n.3 copies of the poems in Word/Pdf format (typeface Times New Roman, 12), each of them no longer than 40 lines. -Poems in Jpeg format will not be accepted. -Participation form
-Consent form for photography and video recording during the Award ceremony.
10) The works must be in Italian or in another language with the Italian translation next to it.
11) The Award’s prize will be the publication of one sole poem per author, for a maximum of 50 authors, in an anthology that will be presented on the morning of Sunday the 26thSeptember 2021 in the town of Spello, at “Comitato di Ca’ Rapillo”. There will be the possibility for those unable to be present at the award ceremony to request a certificate of attendance and a copy of the anthology from the publisher FUTURA LIBRI.
12) The jury whose decision is incontestable, after examining the participants’ works, will assign the recognition during the award ceremony that will take place in Umbria. The results of the Award and the names of the jury members will be publicised on Thursday 21st June.
13)Possible changes to the programme due to the Covid-19 State of Emergency will be communicated promptly.

In accordance with EU Regulation 2016/679 regarding the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) the following information is given regarding the treatment of personal data. The personal data is handled by the Municipality of Spello. The personal data will be processed, also in electronic format, exclusively for the competition’s purposes, to allow the fulfilment of legal requirements. The data will not be disclosed to third parties.
Voluntarily, discretionally and explicitly sending electronic post to the email addresses specified in this announcement entails the acquirement of the sender’s email address, in order to permit replies to requests, in addition to the personal data present in the missive. The municipality of Spello affirms that the GDPR guaranties the exercise of specific rights in order to safeguard the individual.
PARTICIPATION FORM
In particular, the GDPR provides the right to access, which allows the right to have confirmation of whether or not the treatment of personal data is in progress (art. 15
GDPR) and if it is, to obtain the information provided for by the law and to receive a copy as per legal conditions.
Furthermore, the following rights will be able to be exercised: Amendments to incorrect personal data or supplementation of missing data. (art. 16 GDPR) Cancellation (in conjunction with the right to be forgotten) of personal data should there be particular conditions and reasons, for example if the data is not necessary anymore for the initial purpose for which it was collected or if the treatment of the data is unlawful. (art. 17 GDPR) Restriction of the use of the personal data, for example while waiting for its amendment and correction. (art. 18 GDPR)
Transfer of the personal data to another owner should the treatment be automated and based on an agreement or contract. (art 20. GDPR)
Objection to treatment for specific purposes, such as direct marketing. (art. 21 GDPR). Objection is always free of charge in the case of publicity, commercial communication or market research. The person concerned can also object to undergoing a decision that is based uniquely on an automated treatment, including profiling, that has legal or in any way substantial effects on the person. (art. 22 GDPR), unless the treatment is necessary to conclude or execute a contract or is based on consent or authorised by law. In any case, if the treatment is based on a consent release, the person involved has the right to revoke that consent at any time. Revocation of consent will not compromise the legitimacy of the treatment before the said revocation. To exercise one’s rights a specific written request can be sent via electronic mail, certified post, post or hand delivered to the Protocollo Generale of Spello’s townhall, making sure to attach a copy of an ID document and of the fiscal code to the request. It is also possible to file a complaint to the Italian Data Protection Authority (Autorità Garante per la Protezione dei Dati Personali –www.garanteprivacy.it).
Under EU regulation 2016/679 regarding personal data protection as well as the unrepealed part of the aforementioned EU regulation, under law decree 196/2003 (Privacy code), the data provided by candidates will be stored by Spello’s townhall administration for the management of the procedure in question, respecting the obligations of security and privacy expected. Supplying this data is necessary to fulfil the duties pertinent to the Award and for additional cultural initiatives promoted by other authorities who are involved in the organisation of this Award.
Participation in the Award automatically entails that the author gives permission to the publishing house to publish the works in catalogues, anthologies and other publications that aim to promote the event, without any profit.
